Inclement Weather in Bethel

Inclement Weather in Bethel

A street covered in snow with houses on either side.

When hazardous weather is a concern, decisions regarding schedule changes are made in the early morning, before school, when current weather conditions can be assessed. Our main concern is the safety of our students and staff.

How families will receive information:

  • In the event of school closures or delays due to inclement weather, Bethel families can expect to be alerted via text message, email, and/or voice message through our ParentSquare system. (Learn how to download the app here).
  • Bethel families are also encouraged to visit their school website or the Bethel District website for up-to-date information.

General weather delay information

  • School delays or closures are typically decided by 6 a.m. and announced shortly after.
  • No news = No change. If school closure or delay information is not posted school sites, the district website, district social media pages or news stations, then staff and families can assume we have determined that it is safe to run buses in the district and schools will operate as usual.
  • Follow Bethel School District social media where information on school closures or delays will also be posted. On Instagram and Facebook.
  • FlashAlert: Bethel School District utilizes the FlashAlert system for emergency messages, such as breaking news or weather closure information. You can sign up to receive notifications as emails here: www.flashalert.net/id/BethelSD
  • Tune in to local TV and radio stations, which will post and relay information from FlashAlert.
