Last Week of the 20-21 School Year

Hi Amazing Meadow View Families! Can you believe it’s the last week of the school year already?! We can’t either. Thank you all for sticking with it and rocking this wild year–let’s finish strong.  We are thrilled to experience the hustle and bustle of the last week of school (online and in person) with all of our MV wolves this week–woo hoo! 

Here are some updates regarding the last week and days for school:

For K-8 CDL Students

  • The last day of school for K-8 CDL students will be Thursday, June 17. Online classes will follow their regular schedule and times.

For K-5 Cohort A (M/Tu)

  • The last onsite day for K-5 students in Cohort A will be Tuesday, June 15 with a dismissal time of 1:30pm. 
  • Check with your teacher for the final Zoom date/time as this varies from class to class. 

For 6-8 Cohort A (M/Tu)

  • The last onsite day for 6-8 students in Cohort A will be Tuesday, June 15 with a dismissal time of 12:15pm. 
  • Continue to check your Google Classroom for assignments and learning and check with your homeroom teacher for the final Zoom date/time. 

For K-5 Cohort B (Thursday)

  • The last onsite day for K-5 students in Cohort B will be Thursday, June 17 with a dismissal time of 1:30pm. 
  • Bring your Bethel Chromebook and charger to school to return.

For 6-8 Cohort B (Thursday)

  • The last onsite day for 6-8 students in Cohort B will be Thursday, June 17 with a dismissal time of 12:15pm. 
  • Bring your Bethel Chromebook and charger to school to return.

Chromebook Return This Week and Next

To successfully reopen Meadow View, along with all other Bethel Schools, in September, Chromebooks need to be returned. Bethel loaned out more than 3,000 Chromebooks which need to be cleaned, reorganized, repaired and prepared for September.

Here is the schedule for returning student Chromebooks:

  • Thursday, June 17th: If your child is an in-person learner in Cohort B, please have them bring their Chromebook to Meadow View and turn it into the Meadow View front office. Families will be given a receipt showing the Chromebook has been returned.
  • Friday, June 18th:  7:30am-4:00pm at Willamette High School South Parking Lot
  • Monday, June 21st:  7:30am-4:00pm at Willamette High School South Parking Lot
  • Tuesday, June 22nd:  7:30am-4:00pm at Willamette High School South Parking Lot
  • Wednesday, June 23rd:  Noon to 7pm at Willamette High School South Parking Lot

Registration for School Year 2021-2022 is Open

This is a reminder to please complete online registration for your returning MV student(s) as soon as possible. Online registration for returning students is streamlined and very easy.  The days of coming into our building on hot summer days to complete endless pages of paperwork are over!

You will need your student’s snapcode to log on to your student’s secure registration screen.  The snapcode was previously emailed to the person identified as the Priority 1 Guardian in our student information system. Each returning student has a unique snapcode for registration. Please call the office if you need your student’s snapcode, or if you need any assistance with online registration.

If you know for certain that your student will not be returning to Meadow View in September, please call our office (541-607-9700) and let us know.

Get Ready for Kindergarten

Calling all incoming kindergartners!  Bethel School District is offering a FREE summer program for you and your child to get ready for kindergarten.

KITS – Kids In Transition to School – improves early reading and social skills, building a solid foundation for future success.

  • Children attend groups to learn valuable classroom skills and prepare for kindergarten
  • Parents/guardians attend workshops to learn ways to support their child during the all-important start in kindergarten
  • Transportation is provided
  • Healthy snacks are provided
  • Updated COVID health and safety protocols will be followed

KITS starts June 28th and is open to all Bethel families, but space is limited and groups are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Smart Start For New Kindergartners

Yes, we’re already planning ahead for September and a return to school! All incoming kindergarten families will want to know about Smart Start, Bethel’s introduction to school for the Class of 2034! Smart Start is a carefully designed, child-centered schedule and series of activities intended to successfully transition and warmly welcome your child to Kindergarten.

Families can also register their incoming kindergartners.

Last Chance For Summer Enrichment Camps

Registration is still open for Bethel’s free Summer Enrichment Camps. Attendance is limited, so register now. The last day to sign-up is Thursday, June 17th.  To be added to a camp’s wait list, email your request here.

Bethel’s Summer Enrichment Camps are in addition to Bethel’s traditional Summer School programming, such as credit recovery classes, English Language Development, summer reading and special education.

Financial Assistance For Computers and Internet

A $50 monthly discount on broadband service is now available through the Emergency Broadband Benefit program. The new program also provides up to a $100 per household toward a one-time purchase of a computer, laptop, or tablet. Learn more here: https://getemergencybroadband.org/

Smart Start

Sí, ya estamos planeando con anticipación para septiembre y el regreso a la escuela.

¡Todas las familias que ingresan al jardín de infantes deben conocer Smart Start, la introducción de Bethel a la escuela para la generación 2034! Smart Start es un programa y una serie de actividades cuidadosamente diseñados y centrados en el niño que tienen como objetivo hacer una transición exitosa y dar una cálida bienvenida a su hijo al jardín de infantes.

Las familias también deben registrar a los niños que ingresan al jardín de infantes.

Chromebooks

Para reabrir con éxito la escuela Meadow View en septiembre, los Chromebook deben devolverse. Bethel prestó más de 3,000 Chromebooks que deben limpiarse, reorganizarse, repararse y prepararse para septiembre.

Este es el cronograma para que regresen los Chromebooks de los estudiantes:

  • Jueves, 17 de junio: Si su hijo es un alumno en persona en este día, pídale que traiga su Chromebook a la escuela y que lo entregue a nuestra oficina. Las familias recibirán un recibo que muestre que se ha devuelto la Chromebook.
