2021-2022 update

July 15 Update: In-person learning, five days a week

Bethel Families,

We hope that you have been enjoying the summer months and are taking time to recharge and reconnect with family and friends.

In an effort to help you plan for the upcoming school year, we’re reaching out with some brief updates.

In-person learning:

The Bethel School District will return to full time (five days a week) in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year.

In its most recent update to the Ready Schools Safe Learners Resiliency Framework, the Oregon Department of Education, in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority recommended that all students return to full-time, in-person instruction. The framework also acknowledges the complications the COVID-19 virus presents in school settings.

Health and safety protocols:

Details regarding district health and safety protocols, including mask-wearing, physical distancing, cohort grouping, and others are still being considered and finalized. We are working closely with our District Nursing Team, Lane County Public Health, neighboring school districts, and ODE to inform decision making and support schools in health and safety planning to meet community-specific needs. Bethel expects to be provided with additional guidance from ODE and OHA July 22 and will make decisions shortly thereafter. Additional information will be shared with families following that update.

Future communications

Consistent updates will be provided to families approximately every two weeks, pending no major changes or need for communication.

Enjoy your summer!

Familias Bethel,
