About the Program

  • The program is designed to provide a boost to children’s literacy, self-regulation, and social skills prior to entering kindergarten and continuing to support them in the first month after entering kindergarten.

  • The school readiness groups are structured like a kindergarten class. Children attend 2 sessions per week for the first four weeks and 3 sessions per week starting the week of July 26. There will be 1 session per week for 4 Saturdays in September and October.

  • Families attend online workshops weekly in the summer and every Saturday in the fall. This will focus on ways to increase early literacy skills at home, preparing children for the transition to school by establishing routines; how to initiate home-school communication and school involvement; and how to encourage children’s positive behaviors at home and school.
