Update on Reopening from the Superintendent

Good afternoon Wolverine Community,

We are entering our 5th week of Comprehensive Distance Learning. As promised when school started in September, the District is constantly reviewing the COVID metrics for the possibility of reopening schools for in-person instruction.

You may know that the COVID rates in Lane County have gone the opposite way we had hoped, which is not good news for bringing students back into our buildings.

Please read this message from Superintendent Chris Parra (Espanol aqui)explaining our current situation and the goals we need to reach in order to move to Hybrid instruction.

This year has all of us learning new skills and habits. After each class session, new and veteran teachers alike are working to refine the educational experience for students. If you find that your family is being stretched by the challenges of Comprehensive Distance Learning, you are not alone. We want to partner with you, to collaborate on the solutions that can make this working environment better for everyone as the year progresses. Please continue to reach out to your teachers, counselors, administrators, and other staff, as those partnerships create an improvement cycle and relationships that will carry us through.

You are also invited to share feedback about your experience in Comprehensive Distance Learning in this survey.

Your resilience and adaptability continues to inspire us as we rise to meet this challenge together.

Sincerely,
The Willamette Team
