Free summertime meals

Bethel students can access free meals throughout summer months

Children of all ages can access free meals in the Bethel District throughout the summer months.

Curbside meal pickup is available to all children from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday – Thursday through August 20 at Prairie Mountain School (5305 Royal Ave.) and Willamette High School (1801 Echo Hollow Road). Meals are free to all children regardless of whether they are Bethel students.

Free weekend meal bags are also available for all children younger than 18. Families can pick up the free weekend meals, which include three days worth of breakfast and lunch, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Fridays at the same location (Prairie Mountain and Willamette High).

Weekend meal details: Children are not required to be present for meal pick-up. Families may receive one meal bag per child per day. Weekend meal bags include heat-and-serve breakfasts and lunch meals for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This means children have access to 14 free meals over the course of a week.

In addition, students who attend summer school through the Bethel District also receive free breakfast and lunch meals.

For those who may not be able to access Prairie Mountain or Willamette High, there are additional meal options. Food for Lane County in partnership with Eugene Parks and Recreation offers free meals and summer activities for kids daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following Bethel parks:

  • Mangan City Park (2400 Mangan St.)
  • State Street Park (Dakota St. and Burnett Ave.)
  • Trainsong Park (2771 Edison St)
