Malabon Elementary building

The original Malabon Elementary was constructed in 1958. It was built in a hurry during the baby boom era with an expected lifespan of 25 years. The building served children well beyond those years and was showing it age when Bethel voters resoundingly approved a $49.5 million bond measure in November 2012 with a 73% Yes vote. The Bethel Bond included funds to construct a new Malabon right behind the old school.

Malabon families, neighbors and staff provided detailed input for the designers from Soderstrom Architecture, and after more than a year of construction our new building was complete. Ribbon cutting took place on September 3, 2015 to officially open our wonderful new school.

We are very grateful to the Bethel community for their support of the Bethel Bond and their interest in providing an excellent learning space for our children. Here is a time lapse video of the construction of our New Malabon.
