MV K-2 / 6-8 Supplies and 19-20 Yearbook Pick-Up!Meadow View logo

Hey Meadow View! We are having a supply pickup for grades K-2 and 6-8 and a yearbook pick-up (for those who ordered last year) on Wednesday, October 21st from 8am-6pm! We will schedule a separate distribution event for grades 3-5 soon, we’re waiting for a few things to come in, still.

We have lots of things to pick up and they vary from grade to grade. Here is a preview of some of the supplies that we have ready for our MV Wolves:

  • 1st-8th Graders who ordered a 19-20 YEARBOOK last year—good news, THEY’RE HERE! You can swing by on Wednesday to pick it up!
  • Grades K-2 will pick up their MUSIC kits for music classes with Mrs. Janes, as well as other various teacher prepared materials.
  • Kinder: Gourds and pumpkins from Northern Lights Farm for the Kindergarten Virtual Field Trip and other supplies will be here for you to pick up.
  • 6th Grade: Your water filtration project kits are ready for Mrs. Waters’ Science and Math Integrated Block classes!
  • 7th and 8th Grade: Your Elevate Lane County CTE class kits are ready to be picked up!
  • 8th Grade: Your science kits from Mrs. Forester and Mr. Wright are ready for you and have everything you will need at home to experience motion, forces and gravity as you learn along with your classmates. Also, if you missed getting your compost bin today (Friday) for the EWEB Advisory Food Waste competition, we have extras here for you!

To pick up your students’ supplies, please drive up to the MV front parking lot sidewalk anytime between 8am-6pm Wednesday, October 21st. An MV staff member will meet you at your car window to get your student’s name, grade level and their homeroom teacher’s name, grab their supplies from inside and deliver your child’s items/kit curbside. We ask that you remain in your vehicle throughout this process.

If you aren’t able to pick up your supplies on Wednesday, you can call our MV office at 541-607-9700 to make an appointment! We’ll get you all set up.

Auto Dialer for Meadow View

Starting Monday, October 19th, Meadow View will activate our attendance auto dialer system. Our hope is that this extra layer of communication helps families have a heads up to check in with their child about class that day. We know most of our families are working and many kids are independently accessing school. The auto dialer should serve as a reminder to log on and access their flexible learning via Google Classroom or Seesaw.

Here’s a preview of the 6-8 auto dialer message:

Hello! This is Meadow View School calling to let you know that we missed your child on Zoom for one or more class periods today. Please encourage your child to login to their Google Classroom and complete any assignments they missed or reach out to your child’s teacher via phone or email to make other arrangements. Thank you for your partnership as we support our Meadow View students during Distance Learning.

Bethel Bond Update

Hi Amazing Meadow View Families! With Election Day approaching, here’s a quick reminder: There will be a Bethel school bond measure on the ballot this November! Ballots for the November 3rd election should arrive in your mailbox this week. Also, watch your mailbox for information on the Bethel School Bond, Measure 20-314. Meals Update

The District is now expanding its meals operation in order to deliver meals to students in the Alvadore area twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11-1. This is so those who live in the farthest reaches of our District do not have to drive into town for student meals. If you live out in Alvadore and have questions about meals, please call our MV office at 541-607-9700!

Calendar Changes

The Bethel School Board has approved adjustments to the school calendar. These changes are a result of incorporating three more opportunities to conference with families during this school year as newly required by the Oregon Department of Education.

We recognize that many of you are connected to teachers more than you have ever been and these additional, more formal parent-teacher conference opportunities may not be necessary as you are working with your child’s teacher throughout the year.

Each of the three conference weeks include a “No School” Wednesday, enabling teachers to flex their day and schedule conferences into the evening to better enable family participation.

You will also note changes to grading days. These have been moved to Wednesdays to avoid having so many “No School” Fridays.

We also have not yet scheduled three no-student Teacher Inservice days. These days will be scheduled when we are able to move into hybrid instruction and will allow us to train staff more fully on health and safety protocols prior to students attending. We will let you know of any other calendar changes as they occur.
