Dear Meadow View Families – I hope that each of you are thoroughly enjoying summer break!
I’m reaching out with another exciting announcement about Meadow View leadership for the upcoming school year.
After a thorough search process and several applicant interviews, we are thrilled to announce that Denee Newton-Vasquez will serve as the assistant principal at Meadow View next school year. We believe that she is a great fit for Meadow View and that she and Ms. Dodds will make a great team for Meadow View staff, students and families.
Ms. Newton-Vasquez has served in the Philomath School District in Philomath, Ore., since 2017 where she wears many hats, including Dean of Students, District AVID Coordinator and District Equity and Title III Coordinator. Previously, Ms. Newton-Vasquez also worked as an English Language Arts and AVID elective teacher at South Albany High School in Albany, Ore., for seven years where she taught at all levels of high school language arts, including college courses.
Ms. Newton-Vasquez is equity-focused and passionate about using data to influence equitable learning environments. She said in a recent interview that Bethel’s mission resonates deeply with the values she holds as an educator, and that she is eager to learn more about the culture of the school when she joins the team later this summer.
