Hybrid Instruction is starting, beginning with Kindergarten on March 15. Here are three important items related to the reopening of our schools.
Hybrid or Distance Learning Schedules: Kinder families will hear from us early next week about their child’s schedule, assigned teacher, and next steps. Meanwhile, the District has set the tentative schedule for all of the Elementary grades to begin Hybrid Instruction:
- March 15 – Kindergarten
- March 22 – Spring Break
- March 29 – Grade 1 & 2
- April 5 – Grades 3, 4, & 5
Health and Safety: We understand that there may be some concerns about the health and safety of our students, staff and families with the reopening of our school. This video will help explain some of the basic COVID protocols we have in place here at Clear Lake.
Staff Training/No School: Coming back to the classroom can be both an exciting time and an anxiety-producing change for all of us. We are committed to providing the best possible education for all students during these uncertain times. To deliver safe and engaging Hybrid instruction, some specific staff training has to take place.
As a result, there will be some upcoming No School days for specific grades:
- March 3 – K-8 Grading Day
- March 4 & 5 – K-5 Comprehensive Health and Safety Training
- March 8 – K-2 Hybrid/Bethel Online Instructional Prep
- April 2 – 3/4/5 Hybrid/Bethel Online Instructional Prep
Transitioning to Hybrid is new for all of us, and we only have one chance to get it right the first time. The success of Hybrid instruction for our Kinder students will undoubtedly influence our ability to bring more grades back to school sooner. Meanwhile, we appreciate everyone doing their part to help mitigate the spread of COVID in our community.
Materials Pick Up for Grades 1 and 2
Our First and Second grade teachers have prepared materials for the next few weeks of distance learning. These materials will be available at the office starting on Wednesday, February 24, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
Strides for Social Justice
A new app has been launched by PeaceHealth in partnership with the Eugene Marathon that is part history, part exercise, and part fundraiser.
Strides for Social Justice is designed to be an inclusive, family-friendly program that will engage and educate participants as they are guided on routes to various local landmarks, providing a view into local Black history and the influence of Black residents in our community.
The program also aims to encourage physical activity for people of all abilities and fitness levels, and generate financial resources in support of the NAACP and other organizations focused on social justice.

La instrucción híbrida está comenzando, comenzando con el jardín de infantes el 15 de marzo. Aquí hay tres puntos importantes relacionados con la reapertura de nuestras escuelas.
Horarios de aprendizaje híbrido o a distancia: las familias de Kinder recibirán noticias de nosotros a principios de la próxima semana sobre el horario de su hijo, el maestro asignado y los próximos pasos. Salud y seguridad: Entendemos que puede haber algunas preocupaciones sobre la salud y seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias con la reapertura de nuestra escuela. Este video ayudará a explicar algunos de los protocolos básicos de COVID que tenemos aquí en Clear Lake.
Capacitación del personal / No hay clases: Regresar al salón de clases puede ser un momento emocionante y un cambio que produce ansiedad para todos nosotros. Estamos comprometidos a brindar la mejor educación posible para todos los estudiantes durante estos tiempos inciertos. Para ofrecer una instrucción híbrida segura y atractiva, se debe realizar una capacitación específica del personal.
Como resultado, habrá algunos próximos días sin clases para grados específicos:

- 4 y 5 de marzo – Capacitación integral en salud y seguridad de K-5

La transición a Hybrid es nueva para todos nosotros y solo tenemos una oportunidad de hacerlo bien la primera vez. El éxito de la instrucción híbrida para nuestros estudiantes de Kinder sin duda influirá en nuestra capacidad para traer más calificaciones a la escuela antes. Strides por la justicia social
PeaceHealth ha lanzado una nueva aplicación en asociación con el Eugene Marathon que es en parte historia, en parte ejercicio y en parte recaudación de fondos.
Strides por la justicia social está diseñado para ser un programa inclusivo y familiar que involucrará y educará a los participantes mientras son guiados en rutas a varios puntos de referencia locales, brindando una visión de la historia local afroamericana y la influencia de los residentes negros en nuestra comunidad.
El programa también tiene como objetivo fomentar la actividad física para personas de todas las habilidades y niveles de condición física, y generar recursos financieros en apoyo de la NAACP y otras organizaciones enfocadas en la justicia social.
