Our annual Fairfield Jog-A-Thon was a hit, in more ways than one. On a day that forecasted rain all day, the sprinkles stopped in time to get through all but two grade levels. Students had fun through it all and ran their laps for 30 minutes. Special guests included Freddy Falcon, who also ran with students, and the Monster Stereo from Brad’s Car Tunes. PTO was also able to furnish all students with a new Fairfield T-Shirt. Pledges and donations are due! If your child hasn’t turned in collections, it’s not too late! Thank you for all of your help and support for Fairfield.

Smarter Balanced Testing Is Here
Families – the SBAC state test window has opened at Fairfield. Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will be testing for the next 8 weeks. If you know it is your child’s week to test you can best support them by doing the following:
- Encourage them – let them know they can do their best by giving their best effort
- Make sure they get some rest – have a designated bed time that gives them ample rest
- Encourage them to make sure to eat breakfast in the morning
Kids have been working so hard all year. We know that the efforts of their hard work will show.
Play Works Recess Week
So many families have volunteered for this week and we are so appreciative!! This week we are re-teaching students rules for popular playground games such as – SWITCH, WALL BALL, FOUR-SQUARE, BASKETBALL BUMP, JUMP ROPE, and our Play Works game of the week which looks like an organized game of TAG. If you are interested in helping out for a chunk of time between 9:45 and 12:45, please let me know.
The idea behind Play Works is to encourage students to participate in an organized game, to practice sportsmanship, to encourage each other, and to give all students an opportunity to feel included. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out!

Pride at Fairfield
At our Pride Assembly Friday we definitely had great pride to share! A great note of pride was the number of students who had perfect attendance this last 12 weeks of school. The majority of students were 5th grade! Congratulations to all students who were recognized for perfect attendance, a life skill, an OBOB acknowledgement, and for showing great assembly behavior. We have so much to be proud of at Fairfield! Our final pride assembly will be in June. We look forward to celebrating many end of the year accomplishments!
