A Special Place To Be

Valentine’s Family Night At Fairfield

Fairfield kids can dance! Friday night, Fairfield had it’s first ever Valentine’s Dinner and Dance for all families to attend. The cafeteria was full of dressed up families enjoying a spaghetti dinner with a little mood lighting and fun conversation. But the event really got going when families were invited to the gymnasium to participate in a dance. The gym glowed with red lights and music that got everyone tapping their feet. We had break dancing kinders, trains of parents and kids, a dance-off, and lots of smiles. This was an event I know will come back to Fairfield! Special thanks to our PTO for having a vision and seeing it through!

Fairfield Family Night is Back

Just another reason why Fairfield is a special place to be! Families are invited to participate in our next family meeting on Tuesday February 21 from 6:30 - 7:30. Childcare and snacks are provided. This month’s meeting will focus on a more in depth look at our essential skills for kids and how we, as a Fairfield community can get our kids to become more involved in the larger community. Our evenings are engaging and offer opportunities for families to connect with each other. Please come out and join us!

Pride Assembly

Fairfield’s second quarter Pride Assembly was last week! We celebrated our ‘Students of the Day’ and our students with perfect attendance. The school participated in a Jeopardy style game of Fairfield Expectations and had a lot of fun! To end our assembly, we watched a video of our Fairfield kids talking about their dreams for the world and were entertained by Miss Schunk’s 2nd grade class performing “What a Wonderful World” in sign language. We look forward to our next Pride Assembly!

Fairfield Family Meeting

Our second Fairfield Family Meeting was January 18. We shared different math and writing activities that families could do at home to keep our kids learning in a fun and engaging way. Our next Family Meeting is Tuesday February 21 at 6:00. We hope you can join us!

OBOB Madness Begins This Week

Students in grades 3 – 5 have been working together in teams of 4 to read 16 books, know the content of the books, and know the authors of the books to compete in the Fairfield Oregon Battle of the Books! Pool play begins this week as teams compete against each other in a quiz show format to earn the most points. After pool play, the bracket will be determined and it will come down the wire. The winner of the Fairfield OBOB will represent Fairfield at the regional OBOB tourney in Springfield! Go Fairfield!

You Are Invited!

Wednesday, January 18th, you are invited to join Fairfield Families and teachers in our second Family Meeting. At our first Family Meeting, we introduced skills students needed to have in order to graduate from high school. At our next meeting, families will be introduced to activities and games they can play at home with their kids that will encourage the proficiency of the skills students need to have.

Come join us Wedneseday at 6:3o p.m. in the cafeteria. Snacks and childcare will be provided. You are guaranteed a good time, getting to know families, working with teachers, and planning together to do great things for our kids. I hope to see you then!

Snow Might Be Coming

Snow In Forecast: Receive School Alerts
A strong weather system is forecast to hit Eugene on Sunday, bringing with it the possibility of snow. It could impact our school schedule on Tuesday (Monday is MLK Day).

Now is the time to sign-up for FlashAlert. This free service will send you an email or text message if school is cancelled or delayed.

Go online to FlashAlert, enter your email information and follow the on-screen prompts. You will receive school closure information as an email or as a text message.

In the case of bad weather conditions always double-check through the local media outlets – TV and radio – for any school closures or delays.

If you hear nothing about Bethel on local radio or TV it means that Bethel Schools are on a normal schedule.
