Arrival and Dismissal
Malabon’s schedule has changed just slightly this year. Doors will open at 7:50am. Students will go directly to their classrooms. Breakfast will be served in the classrooms again this year. School officially starts at 8:15 and now ends at 2:20. To access our parking lot procedures for dismissal/pick up, please click HERE for English and Here for Spanish. Your patience is greatly appreciated as we follow these safety procedures for our students.
New Staff Introductions
Please help me welcome the following new staff members to our team here at Malabon:
Stacie Jubb is Malabon’s new Resource Room teacher (Mr. Peterson has moved out of state). Ella Sembach is our new PE teacher (Mr. Mart is now full time at Fairfield). Eric Given is a new counselor at Malabon (new position). He will share his time between Malabon and MeadowView schools. Alli Shirtcliff will be teaching 4th grade (Rachel Hsieh was hired to work as a teacher mentor for our district), Tyler Skordal will be teaching 5th grade (new position) and Gabie Mbenza-Ngoma will be teaching 5th grade (Rachel Camarena moved out of state). Luke Riccio will be a new language and facilitating teacher working with all grades (new position).
Olivia Garcia (3rd), Alex Walker (4th), and Katie Fjordbeck (K) joined us as temporary teachers last year. I am happy to say they have been hired back at Malabon this year.
We have many support staff joining our team as well. Welcome Brandee Yale, will be our new lead in Malabon’s kitchen. Cheryl Bunnell, Kathleen Burke, Kelly Didio, Alexandria Hoy, and Ray Stevens, and Liz Hancock will be joining us, supporting kids throughout the day in a variety of areas.
I have had such a privilege to spend time with each one of these amazing educators and I am so very excited to introduce them all to you and your kids this year!
