Estimados padres de Familia

We Miss  You!

We’ve been thinking about all of you! We hope you are enjoying summer and getting excited for the 21-22 school year. Bethel continues to plan for a 5-day a week on-site school schedule and the Danebo Staff can’t wait to welcome our students & families back to school.

We know that our families and community have experienced the pandemic in different ways and we are ready to meet our Danebo students where they are, celebrate their strengths and tap into their amazing funds of knowledge. Our staff will be here for our students, our families and our community and we will continue to support all of you.

We are SO excited to meet our new students and families and connect with our returning students and families.

Thanks for staying connected and reading the BLOG. This is where you will continue to find information related to Danebo and Bethel School District.

New Staff Introductions

Please join me in welcoming the following staff members to Danebo:

  • Nathan Boys, Kindergarten (replacing Cami Railey who will be teaching in the Bethel Online Academy/BOA).
  • Jill Torres, Counselor (replacing Will Davidson who is now the Counselor at Shasta Middle School).
  • Jeannelle Mahle, PE (replacing Nicole Zwink who will be teaching full time PE at Prairie Mountain).
  • Kati McAdams, Facilitating teacher/K-5 Art (new position for Danebo)

In addition, we are in the process of hiring a Special Education/Resource Room teacher to replace Kate Aly-Brady who will be supporting students in the Bethel Online Academy/BOA. We have several new Classified Staff still to hire, so stay tuned for more introductions.

Starting the 2021-22 School Year

As I mentioned above, Bethel is planning for a 5 day week starting September 8th (Wednesday). HERE is a link to the 2021-22 Bethel Calendar.

We know you are all wondering about health and safety updates and what your child’s school day will look like.  Soon, you can expect details about the student day, class lists, Meet the Teacher, plans for arrival/dismissal, parking, breakfast and lunch, and health/safety protocols–among other things! Stay tuned and thanks for being patient while we develop and compile all of this important information for you!

Please do save the date on Thursday, September 2nd, for some form of Meet the Teacher event. We will be working on a plan to ensure families the opportunity to meet staff and remain safe in doing so.

Have a Child Turning 5 on or Before September 1st?

Then this post is for you!

We are excited to welcome our incoming Kindergartners, the Class of 2034! We will be reaching out to all Kinder families the week of August 23-27 with important information. Below is a brief summary of what the first two weeks of school will look like for our Kinders.

First Week of School: Kindergarten Camp

Kindergarten Camp will take place during the first week of school

Students will attend only one full day of Kindergarten Camp, either:

  • Wednesday, September 8th OR
  • Thursday, September 9th

Students will not be assigned a specific teacher yet

Parent Meetings: No School

  • On Thursday evening, class lists are determined by the Danebo Kindergarten Team and Principal.
  • Friday (September 10th) and Monday (September 13th) are reserved for parent/teacher meetings. There will be NO SCHOOL for Kindergartners on these two days.
  • Families will be contacted Thursday evening (September 9th) or Friday morning (September 10th) to confirm their parent meeting time with teachers

Second Week of School: Staggered Start

Starting on Tuesday, September 14th, Kindergarteners will attend half days at Danebo:

  • Your child will attend either the AM (8:40-11:15) or PM (12:15-2:45) half of the school day
  • Students will attend their AM/PM sessions with their assigned teachers.

Full Day Kindergarten

  • Starting on Friday, September 17th, all Bethel Kindergarten students will attend the full day of school.

What’s Next?!

We’ll be making calls to our incoming Danebo Kinder Families in the next few days to gather lots of information. During our conversation, you will sign up for your child’s Kinder Camp day, tell us your preferred Parent Meeting time and indicate your Staggered Start AM/PM preference.

Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at the Danebo office at 541-688-8735.

We are thrilled to announce that Project Hope will be taking place again this year.
