9th Grade and Newcomer Orientation

Our staff and Transition Crew (T-Crew) students are excited for a fun and useful welcome to the Wolverine Community. For 9th graders, the 2019-20 school year begins on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 10:00 am. All returning students begin at 9:05 am on Wednesday, September 4th.

Buses will be running on a 9th grade orientation schedule. The regular bus stop time will be two-hours later than a normal, 8:00 am start time. For example, if a student’s normal pick-up time is 7:15  am, then the pick-up for 9th grade orientation would be 9:15 am.

After school, buses will run on the normal after school school routes and times.. (See the WHS Bus Schedule for your Regular and Late Schedule times.) Parent drop-off and pick-up is permitted in the South Lot. (just opposite of front office north lot on Echo Hollow)

All 9th graders will meet in the East Gym by 10:00 am for a Welcome Assembly to kick off our 9th grade orientation day.

10th-12th grade students who are new to the district are invited come from 1:00 pm-3:10 pm for campus tours and class schedule preview. Please meet in the West Gym at 1:00 pm. Students must arrange personal transportation.

Please bring a sack lunch or $2.50 to purchase lunch. If your student is enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program (which we encourage all families to explore eligibility), lunch will be provided by the cafeteria at a free or reduced rate.

The day will conclude at the regular end-time of 3:10pm, with bus schedules following the every-day return schedule. The first full day of classes will follow on Wednesday, a 9:05am Late Start schedule.

Welcome Back Day Thank You

Today’s Welcome Back Day featured over a thousand students on campus to confirm registration, get yearbook and ID photos, secure parking passes, join student clubs, and wait in unfortunately long lines. We appreciate all of your efforts to be here and we would like to apologize for the wait-times due to some unforeseen technical difficulties with the student ID printing system.

We are committed to improving our systems in the future to minimize the frustration that some of you may have experienced.

We are excited to celebrate the start of the 2019-2020 school year. Go Wolverines!

Welcome Day

(en español abajo)

August 29th is our Welcome Back event, taking place the week before classes begin, where all registered students can get their school photos, ID cards, parking passes, graduation info, and locker sign-ups during the times assigned to their 2019-20 grade level. Please plan to attend during the times specified below.

As schedules are due to be released through Home Access Center on the 26th, all students should complete registration by that date. If registration is not completed by August 29th, any forecasted schedules will be dissolved to make room for registered students. This means anyone registering after the August 29th deadline will need to build a new schedule based on available courses. Please call or come in to the Front Office of Willamette to be provided assistance in completing registration.

Students are asked to attend Welcome Day at their listed time, based on grade for the 2019-2020 school year. Siblings in different grades may come together. If you have any questions or cannot attend, please call 541-689-0731.

Coming Soon, First Semester Schedules.

Dear Willamette Student and Parent/Guardian,

The WHS scheduling team is actively revising student schedules for the first semester. First semester schedules will be available on Monday, 8/26/19 for previews via the Home Access Center.

After reviewing your schedule, please email requests for schedule adjustments to WHSscheduling@bethel.k12.or.us. We will make every attempt to fulfill this request prior to the start the semester. Due to class offering limitations and class size restraints, we will not be able to fulfill all requests.

If your schedule has one of the following errors after 9:00am on Wednesday, September 4th then students should go to the counseling center during the period that needs correction.

  1. Academic misplacement – For example, I was placed in Spanish 3 when I should be in Spanish 2.
  2. A necessary graduation requirement is missing – For example, I do not have an English class.
  3. A missing class – For example, my schedule is blank period 3.

As per state policy, only Seniors are eligible for an off-campus period.

New this year, students enrolled in Mr. Symonds Video Game Design, Web Design, Multimedia, and Computer Science Classes will now be labeled as “Computer Projects Lab” on your schedule.

We are excited to continue a great school year!
