We will be open Monday-Friday 7am-3:00pm. Closed for lunch 11am-11:45.

Students who wish to obtain their “Proof of Enrollment” for the DMV should call ahead and make a request Tuesday-Friday; we will have it ready for you when you come in. We do not fax this information to the DMV.

Bethel Health Center summer hours

The Bethel Health Center will be closed from June 14 to August 12th. Sports physicals availaable on August 13 and 14 from 9am to 5pm. Drop in; no appointment necessary. Cost $40 cash or check.

On August 28th, the Bethel Health Center will be open for patient visits and resume being open 3 days a week on school days.

Cutting Edge Design Revealed Tonight

Big changes are coming to Willamette. Tonight you can get a peek at the preliminary design of the new “face” for WHS when early plans for the new science addition are revealed.

This modern facility will become the signature building on campus, built right out front along Echo Hollow. It will have a cutting edge design and interior features that will make Willamette stand out.

Join Bethel’s architects for a public meeting tonight at 7:00 in the WHS cafeteria. The exciting early design features will be revealed, small group discussion will take place, and feedback on the preliminary design will be sought. Everyone’s welcome tonight at 7:00.

Free Dental Services for uninsured children

Dental services are available for uninsured children at the Lane Community College Dental Clinic at no cost to the family. Services include: cleaning, x-rays, dental exam and restorative services. You can call the LCC Dental Clinic to schedule an appointment for your school age children, ages 5-18, at 541-463-5206.

Funding for this project is provided through the Oregon Community Foundation. Funding is currently available through June 30, 2013.

New Head Football Coach Hired

Willamette High School has hired Adam Kennybrew as our head football coach. Adam comes to WHS from Thurston, where he was offensive coordinator for the varsity team. Adam has many years of experience as a coach and player, and was a member of the Oregon Ducks football team.

We look forward to welcoming Adam to the Willamette community, and are excited about his commitment to bring his experience and expertise to WilHi football. Go Wolverines!

Driver’s Education

Winter term for Driver’s Education for Willamette High School students begins Saturday, January 5th, 2013 and runs through March 16th. Training sessions are held on Saturdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Registration is now open. Call: 541-342-4339 or visit the website at www.oregondrivertraining.com.

Listed are sporting activities, release times, dances, club meetings etc. Please call the main office if you need further assistance.

Willamette Dress Code

Effective today (9/13) the Willamette Student Dress code is being enforced.

1. Pants and shorts must be worn at or above the highest point of the hips. Sagging pants and shorts are not permitted. Shorts must have an inseam measure of more than 3 inches.

2. Clothing must cover bare midriffs, cleavage, and all under garments completely. Spaghetti straps are not allowed, unless completely covered by additional clothing.

3. Skirts must measure and be worn 16 inches from top to bottom.

4. Clothing which advertises or displays alcohol, drugs, sex, nudity, foul or obscene language or which is otherwise disrespectful to people may not be worn.

Parents will be notified to bring appropriate clothing, pick up their student, or release their student to leave camps to go home to obtain proper attire. If the parents are not available, then the student will be given loaner clothing to wear in place of the inappropriate clothing. Students will not be able to return to class until they are properly dressed. Repeated dress code violations may result in a referral and other disciplinary consequences.

Student handbooks were handed out yesterday and they were reviewed during classtime. Please refer to page 29 for additional dress and grooming guidelines.
