Big Weekend for Jazz Band & Session Choir

Session Choir at Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival

We want to congratulate Jazz Band and Session Choir for their outstanding performances this weekend at the Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival. You made us very proud!

Shasta’s Session Jazz Choir had an amazing day at the 43rd Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival on Saturday, April 21st. The choir received excellent scores and placed third in a highly competitive Jr High Division. On top of that, 6th Grader Gabriel A. was given the top soloist award. Shasta Choirs are now busily preparing for the Best of the Northwest Concert Choir Competition at the University of Portland in May.

The Shasta Jazz Band competed at the Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival as well, where they took second place in the highly competitive Junior High division. One of the band’s members, Jordan T. was also awarded an Outstanding Soloist award for his performance on trombone.

Mathew, Andrew, Brody, Austin, and Jackson with the trophy.

Eighth Grade End of the Year Planning Meeting – Thursday, April 19

We wanted to take a moment and remind all of our Shasta 8th grade families that there will be a planning meeting for the end of the year activities on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 6:30 in the library. You will be able to enter through the gate on the north side of the office. We will be planning the following activities:

  • The 8th Grade Celebration will take place on the evening of Wednesday, June 13, 2018, following the Departure Ceremony at Willamette High School. This is a fun activity for student to enjoy dancing and activities.
  • The 8th Grade Trip will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 9:15-3:30 p.m. Students will be going to various activities at Putters, Strike City, and Skate World. We are looking for parents/guardians to help plan the barbeque and games at a local park.

Thank you very much for your help! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
