Mr. James: Shasta Middle School Welcomes Brady Cottle
Parents, Families, and Friends,
It is with excitement that I pass along information about the new Shasta Middle School principal for the 2013-2014 school-year. Brady Cottle will be returning to Shasta as the leader. This year he has been working at Prairie Mountain School as the assistant principal. Many of you will remember Mr. Cottle from the 2011-2012 school-year when he was the assistant principal at Shasta.
Having Brady back in Thunderbird Country will add stability and a knowledge of how things happen at Shasta. He is a creative mind and an instructionally sound leader…Welcome back Mr. Cottle!

8th Grade Camp Harlow Field Trip – Monday, June 10th
The Eighth Grade Field Trip is scheduled for Camp Harlow on Monday, June 10th from 9:15 am – 2:15 pm. We will be traveling by bus and the Eighth Grade parents will be serving a BBQ lunch to all of the students. Activities include: swimming, miniature golf, go-karts, bumper boats, basketball, and gym.
The cost of the Camp Harlow event is $10 per student. This fee includes coverage of life guards, equipment rental and supervision, site fee, and bus. Fundraisers have been held throughout the year to keep the cost down for our students.
If you would like to assist, but do not have the time to volunteer, financial donations are greatly appreciated. This is to ensure we can provide a memorable experience for our students with the Camp Harlow Field Trip, Departure & Awards Ceremony, and Celebration Party.
Permission Slip and $10 needs to be returned by Thursday, June 6, 2013

Mr. James: 8th Grade Parents
Here are some reminders and requests for our end of the year celebration…
Camp Harlow: On Monday (June 10) the 8th grade students will be spending the day at Camp Harlow (9:15-2:10). In order to fund this event, we are asking students to bring in $10. Right now, we have only received the money from about half of our 8th grade class. Please have your son/daughter drop off their payment to Gina in the front office.
Donations: We are looking for parents to donate gifts that can be used as prizes for the party following the departure ceremony on the 12th of June. The prizes should be $5 or less (gatorade, gift cards, snacks, etc.). If you can collect them, bag them, and send them to the office, that would be FANTASTIC!
Dress Code: Please be aware of dress code for our upcoming events. There should be no strapless dresses for the departure ceremony. We are also asking students to make appropriate choices for the items they wear at Camp Harlow (swimwear, shorts, etc.). If you have any questions about the dress code, please let me know.
Posterboards: It was decided at the last 8th grade parent meeting that we will not be decorating with posterboards. We will be processing pictures that have been taken during the year and hanging them in the entryway of the ceremony.
Thanks!
