Planning for Success
Willamette T-Crew members recently visited our eighth grade students to talk about a few of the differences they will notice when they enter high school next fall. Increased personal accountability and expectations- both academic and social-top the list of what freshmen can expect from their teachers.
Academic success will depend on taking the initiative to track, complete and turn in all assignments on time, something students may not be entirely used to doing in middle school.
It’s good to know that the T-Crew representatives have taken the initiative to help next year’s incoming freshmen get off to the right start.
Eagles Continue to Soar
Our students hear us talking about Prairie Mountain PRIDE every day, and it’s fantastic to know that our track team members let their Eagle Pride show on the track field as well!
All of our track and field athletes have done an amazing job of setting, reaching and even surpassing personal goals.
The final track meet of the year will be Thursday, May 17 for our middle school team. Go Eagles!

Mrs. Haliski: Read, Read, Read
Hi Prairie Mountain Families,
It’s been another busy week here at Prairie Mountain. We kicked off our PTO-sponsored Read a Thon with a fun juggling assembly this past Monday. Lots of excitement as we get ready to read, read, read….
Read a Thon
Prairie Mountain School celebrates and rewards every child’s reading efforts! Our Read a Thon presents an engaging and educational opportunity for our school. The Read A Thon fosters positive reading habits, promotes literacy and financially supports our school. Prizes are given to the classrooms in each grade that read and collect the most money. We all win by encouraging our kids to read, read and read! The dates for our Read a Thon are May 1-14. All forms and pledges are due on May 17th.
Rummage Sale
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the PTO-sponsored rummage sale on Saturday, May 19th in our south gym. Doors will open promptly at 9 a.m.
Go For The Gold and Finish Strong
Yesterday we had our third annual ‘Move Around Day.’ Students visited classrooms at their next grade level and had a re-teach of behavior expectations. Move Around Day is just one of the positive behavior activities we are doing as we work to Go for the Gold and Finish Strong. Elementary classes are working to earn ‘giant’ pride cards when staff notices their entire class making the right choice. Sixth graders are working toward a reward field trip in June, 7th graders started their economics unit (where they can earn or lose depending on the choices they make) and 8th graders have their end of the year activities.
Financialmente apoya a nuestra escuela.
