This is one of my favorite weeks of the entire school year because this is conference week! I love connecting with families, and I hope to see each and every one of you here for conferences this year. We believe that we do our best work when we do it together.
If you have not yet scheduled your conference, there is still time. Please contact your student’s homeroom teacher to reserve your spot right away.
Conference times are:
Wednesday December 4th: 3:00-8:00
Thursday, December 5th: 12:00-7:30
When you are here for conferences, please stop by our Book Fair in the elementary library. This year’s theme is Arctic Adventure: Snow Much to Read! Catchy isn’t it? This is a wonderful opportunity for you to support our school library as well as encourage your students to read, read, read. Did you know that the total minutes a student reads each week has a powerful impact on their overall success in school? It’s a fact! If your student is not yet a reader, read to them at every opportunity to instill in them a love of reading. Time spent with books and reading is always time very well spent.
The big day is just around the corner! Please make plans to come to our school this Friday and Saturday for PM PTO’s Winter Bazaar. We have dozens and dozens of amazing vendors lined up who will be selling a wide array of terrific products. There will absolutely be something for everyone. There is no admittance charge, so come one come all, and bring a friend! Thank you for supporting our amazing hard working Prairie Mountain PTO. For all the details, check out this Winter Bazaar flyer.
Friday December 4th: 4:00-7:00
Saturday December 5th: 9:00-3:00
Bethel School District is teaming with Eugene 4J and the Eugene Police Department to offer training for parents and the public about how to prevent sexual exploitation of children, as well as cyber-bullying and sexting. A nationally-recognized child crimes specialist will lead the training. Click here for the details (PDF).
After two months of rehearsals, Willamette’s fall play is ready to take the stage. There’s still time to catch the performance of Miss Bunny Bunting’s Bonafide Belles or The Trail of the Tenebrous Tiara! It will feature a daring damsel, a helpful hero, a harried headmistress, and the vilest of villains. Opening night was Thursday, but two more performances are set for Friday and Sunday. The doors at Willamette’s auditorium open at 6:30, and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door: $4 for staff/students and $6 for general admission. Kids 6 and under are free.
Our Book Fair will be open in the elementary library beginning Tuesday, December 3rd through Thursday, December 5th.
