Dear Students and Families,
I have been at Prairie Mountain for the past 6 years and there has been nothing that compares to our middle school Dirty Dash. It was such a great opportunity for our community to come out and support our middle school students as they plunged into a pit of mud. This fundraising event brought in over $6500 to our amazing PTO! Bravo!
I would like to send out a very special thank you to Beckie and Russell Nute, our project leaders. They believed in this project from the get-go and worked countless hours to make this happen for our kids. Both of them embody the true essence of philanthropy. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Please take a second to scroll through this slide show to see all of the folks/businesses who helped make our Dirty Dash possible. At the end of the slide show you will find a link that will take you to over 1000 photos of our students participating in the Dirty Dash. We would like to thank Mr. Bill Beckett, and Mrs. Kristi Seanor for capturing these awesome moments.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. We do our best work when we do it together. Go EAGLES!
We would like to send out a special thank you to the companies that donated snacks, gum, fresh fruit and vegetables, bottled water, and hardware to create our snack shacks. It was because of you, that we were able to make testing week a rewarding, positive, and meaningful week for our students.
Thank you to:
• Emerald Fruit and Produce
• Bigfoot Beverages
• McDonald Wholesale
• Winco Foods
• Cash and Carry
With your help we were able to serve over 500 students fresh fruit and vegetables, granola bars, teddy grams, jolly ranchers, gum, and water during our 3-8th grade state testing weeks. Teachers and students were so appreciative of your amazing generosity. These snacks were a huge success because we were able to nourish our kids as they worked diligently on doing their very best on their state assessments. Kudos to these businesses, for understanding the importance of giving back to their communities. We are so thankful and appreciative of your generous spirit.
Thank you again for all that you do for our community, students and their families.
If you have not yet registered your returning student, please do this today. We encourage all families with returning students to complete online registration by the deadline of June 28, but the sooner the better. I can’t believe that it’s finally here. The First Annual Dirty Dash will be a combination of running, jogging, and walking through a bunch of fun obstacles, including the Tiresport Tire Step & Tire Crawl, Express Clean Belly Crawl, JFI Construction Towering Wall, Megan Naslund Pro Realty Hay Bale Pyramid, Westside Faith Center Mud Pit, and the Castle Storage Slip & Slide!
We invite you to come on out and what our Eagles move through the Dirty Dash obstacles. Our Eagles will be doing the Dirty Dash from 12:45-2:00 in the back of the school. If you would like to watch please park, walk to the back of the school, find the visitor table, grab a badge, and enjoy watching from the bleachers.
If your student would like to participate in the Dash they will need to bring clothes/shoes that they don’t mind getting dirty. Students will have time to change at school before the Dash. Students will be outside until dismissal. We would encourage you to pick your child up from school or have them walk/bike home. If that doesn’t work, we have our buses ready to transport like usual. We just ask that students take one of our garbage bags to sit on.
Remember our goal is to raise $5000. As of 5 minutes ago we have raised $3,783! Our 6th grade is in the lead, 8th is in second, and 7th is in 3rd place. WE STILL NEED YOU!
