Help Meadow View Earn Money
A new partnership with Kendall Toyota will bring thousands of dollars to Bethel schools.
The Drive For Education will provide $4,000 each month to Bethel during the school year. That money will be used to help update computers and other classroom technology.
In addition, Meadow View will be in the running to earn up to $3,000 quarterly by the number of points we earn through Kendall Toyota. Points are awarded by visiting the dealership, Liking Kendall Toyota on Facebook, test driving a car, or for money spent at Kendall Toyota on sales or service. For more information visit Kendall Drive For Education.

Trivia Night is tomorrow night in Willamette High School’s caforium. I am hosting this event with former assistant principal Jenny Sink. Trivia Night is modeled after a quiz show, only this time you get to use teams. Each table of 6-8 will be a team. Teams will listen to the announcer read 10 questions which constitutes a round. We will keep a running score. Between rounds there will be fun audience participation games and prizes, so bring your check book. The winning team will win prizes!! There will be Teriyaki Chicken Meals available for $4. The meal includes noodles, salad, fruit, drink, and dessert. There will also be hot dogs and soft drinks for sale for $1. All tables will have popcorn to snack on to help fuel your brain!! Everyone will receive a silly band bracelet to remind them of the fun evening! Everyone is welcome, but younger kids won’t be able to participate as much as middle school or high school aged students. This will be a super fun and challenging night, and a great chance to help Bethel Education Foundation raise money to support all Bethel Schools! Tickets are available at all schools and will be available at the door, but space is limited, so buy your ticket today. For more information please visit betheleducationfoundation.org. BEF gave out $24,000 in grants this school year! Please help us help kids!! The doors open at 6:00 and the games begin at 6:30.
Kindergarten Round-Up is early this year across the district. Meadow View will be hosting this event on Thursday, March 8th in the caforium beginning at 6:30. This is only 10 days away. If you have an incoming kindergarten student or know of someone who does, please pass this information along to them. If you haven’t contacted the office letting them know you have a kindergarten aged child coming in September, please do so prior to March 8 . Child care will be provided in the north gym for children two and older.
March Madness teams have been formed by our 8th grade students. This year they are determined to defeat the teachers. The word on the street is the staff won’t be denied! Mark those calendars for Tuesday, March 13th from 6-8. The cost is $2 at the door and you won’t want to miss the fun and exciting event.
This year Meadow View moved toward an electronic newsletter. We have also provided a paper copy for any family who has requested one. I am curious how this is working for our families. Please remember the newsletter is posted at the end of each month for the upcoming month. Parents do not receive a notification of this information being posted. Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions with me regarding this topic.
Dont forget Dr. Seuss Week starts this Monday! This year we are kicking off the week in a different way. Rather than a Friday night activity, we are doing a Monday night activity. On Monday, February 27th the school has rented Skate World from 6:30-8:30 for all Meadow View families. We are charging $1 for students and parents skate for free! We are hoping to see you there!

When was the last time you laughed hysterically? If you like to laugh and you enjoy basketball, then you won’t want to miss the Staff -vs- 8th Grade Basketball Game scheduled for March 13th at 6:00. The staff is undefeated over the last four years but this year could be different. Our 8th grade students are feeling confident and are looking forward to schooling the staff! The entry fee is $2 at the door. Raffle tickets will also be sold at the door and if your name is drawn out, you will be shooting for cash!
Do you like to play the game called Trivial Pursuit? If you answered yes, then you won’t want to miss the Bethel Education Foundation Trivia Night. This event is happening Friday, February 24th at Willamette High School’s cafeteria. The doors open at 6:00 and the trivia games begin at 6:30. Tickets are on sale now in our front office for $5 and will also be sold at the door the night of the event. Come as a participant or come as a spectator. This will be a great evening and terrific fundraiser for the foundation. The proceeds go directly back into the classrooms so please come and show your support.

Meadow View Wins Again
Hello Meadow View Families,
For the second year in a row our school won the Bethel Staff Talent Show. Meadow View staff dressed up in black and white clothing and used blacklights to perform the winning act.
The Bethel Education Foundation’s event created a lot of unity in the district while raising more $,6000 in donations, money that will end up right back in Bethel classrooms for important projects and programs.
Take a look at our act and tell me what you think.
A reminder…fall fundraising packets went home with students this week and they are due back Wednesday the 19th. This is our biggest fund raiser of the year so please support our school’s PTO.
Get caught up on more school news with the October newsletter now on Meadow View’s homepage.
Thanks,
Brian
