Malabon in May!
Malabon May Newsletter
Here is Malabon’s May Newsletter that has also gone home in Tuesday Folders this week. And here is our Classroom Placement Policy and Parent Input Form. If you wish to share input with us about your child prior to the time our staff will be building cohesive classrooms for next fall, either print out the parent input form or pick one up at the front office. They need to be returned to the front office by June 1st.
Malabon Track Stars!
Malabon Track is in full swing. We have so many of our kids participating. They are doing a great job and having a fun time as well! Malabon’s next Elementary Track Meet is at Willamette H.S. track at 4:00pm next Wednesday, May 9th. Come and cheer on our Mustangs!
We Are Bethel…Be Involved!
Now’s the time to really be a part of the community and get involved in the annual We Are Bethel community celebration, set for Saturday, June 2nd at Petersen Barn Park. Here are two ways:
- Nominate a deserving community member for a special recognition called the Milk Toast. Everyone at the Celebration is given a pint of milk to raise in toast of the person of honor. Nominations for the Milk Toast honoree are now being solicited.
- Volunteer to help with the Let’s Move activities at We Are Bethel, such as guiding kids through an obstacle course, supervising a pajaggle game, or recording health metrics data.
If you have a great Milk Toast nominee and a legitimate reason why they should be honored….or would like to be engaged in your community by volunteering to help with the Let’s Move activities, email Peter Chavannes at peter.a.chavannes@ci.eugene.or.us

Seeking Your Feedback
The City of Eugene is considering providing land for the Y to build a new facility in Bethel that would double as a community center. It would be built on a patch of land between Meadow View School’s artificial turf field and the Babe Ruth Baseball complex. The city needs your input on this decision. Take the survey by June 12th at www.eugene-or.gov/bethelpark and then share your thoughts with the rest of us in the Reply Box below.
Summer Lookout
While school is out for the summer please help protect our school. If you see any graffiti on or around our school please call the Bethel School District office at (541) 689-3280 so the tagging can be removed immediately. For other graffiti in our community call Eugene Public Works at (541) 682-4800. And to report graffiti as a crime (criminal mischief) or as a potential bias crime, call the Eugene Police non-emergency number at 541-682-5111. Send your own message by helping to keep our schools and our community graffiti-free. Share your thoughts in the Reply Box below.
