Update on Reopening from the Superintendent

Hello Kalapuya Families,

You may know that the COVID rates in Lane County have recently gone the opposite way we had hoped, which is not good news for bringing students back into our buildings.

Please read this message from Superintendent Chris Parra  (Espanol aqui) explaining our current situation and the goals we need to reach in order to move to Hybrid instruction.

This year has all of us learning new skills and habits. After each class session, new and veteran teachers alike are working to refine the educational experience for students. If you find that your family is being stretched by the challenges of Comprehensive Distance Learning, you are not alone. We want to partner with you, to collaborate on the solutions that can make this working environment better for everyone as the year progresses. Please continue to reach out to your teachers, counselors, and all Kalapuya staff, as those partnerships create an improvement cycle and relationships that will carry us through.

At some point soon we hope to begin limited in-person instruction (likely one day per week) for students. We will be e-mailing information about that in the coming week. Until then, stay well and let us know how we can best support you and your student.

Sincerely,

The Kalapuya Team
