Mr. James: Jog-a-Thon (coming soon!)

Parents, Families, and Friends,

Here is your daily jog-a-thon reminder. The buzz has been picking up about student pledges and bold predictions on how many laps will be run. We had a couple more parents volunteer to help out at the event. If you are interested, please let me know and we will appreciatively put you to work!

How Does PTO Support Students?

#4- Community events such as our themed dance parties, BINGO Nights, and  Back to School BBQ are PTO driven and funded. The aforementioned events are meant to build relationships and get families together. In order to put on the fun family nights, we rely on our fall fundraiser and upcoming jog-a-thon to raise funds.

Mr. James: Jog-a-Thon (7 Days)

Parents, Families, and Friends,

We are seven days from the jog-a-thon, and the early weather report is showing mostly sunny and 63 degrees. When you are collecting donations and pledges, please use the the following ID number for tax purposes (90-0114708). Also, we are still in need of volunteers, Especially at the fourth and fifth grade level.

How Does PTO Support Our Students?

#3- Through generous funding, the PTO supports field trips for our classes. During hard financial times, being able to take advantage of learning opportunities away from our campus is hard to fund. PTO is dedicated to making these opportunities happen.

Mr. James: Jog-a-Thon (8 days)

Parents, Families, and Friends,

We are eight days away from the jog-a-thon, and the track is beginning to heat up! Yesterday we had multiple classrooms using their P.E. time to run the track and get ready for the big event.

How Does PTO Support Our Students?

#2- Three years ago PTO purchased 15 laptops for the school. Since then, they have been used for writing, testing, researching, and taking our students to places they would not have reached without them.

Thanks!

~greg

Mr. James: Jog-a-Thon (9 Days)

Parents, Families, and Friends,

The Jog-a-Thon is only nine days away. I want to make a big push and get as many families involved as possible. This is our second largest fundraiser of the year, and the money raised goes into the school to support our students and our academic goals.

How Does PTO Support Our Students?:

#1- This year, PTO funded .3 of a teacher to help lower class sizes in third and fourth grade. We have been able to lower our third grade numbers for reading and math, and our fourth grade numbers for reading. This sort of commitment by you (Irving PTO) has made an longstanding and dramatic impact on our students.

Stay tuned for more ways our PTO supports our kids…
