Winter Healthy Tip

Staying Healthy During the Winter

During the winter it is easy to indulge in all of the delicious foods and sit in front of the television.  Remember the general tips for healthy living:

  • Sit down while eating
  • Turn off the television
  • Eat proper portion sizes
  • Include fruits, vegetables and lean protein choices
  • Exercise!  In the winter you can go to the pool, bundle up and participate in winter sports in the mountains, sign up for indoor sports or other exercise classes.

Wellness Reminder

We would like to keep everyone healthy and in school!  Please remember to have your child practice good hand washing, cough into their sleeve or elbow and stay home if there is fever, vomiting or diarrhea.  You may return to school when you have been symptom free for 24 hours.

If your child develops a persistent severe cough, please have him/her seen by your pediatrician or call our Bethel Health Center at 541-607-1430.

If your child is asthmatic, be aware of the triggers and make sure he or she has the necessary medication and asthma action plan at school.
