Update: Bethel Schools Closed Again Thursday

Freezing temperatures overnight and treacherous morning driving conditions have forced the closure of all Bethel schools again on Thursday, February 28th.

We had hoped that a 2-hour delay would allow the conditions to improve. However, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority and their ability get to school is still compromised.

All school-related evening activities are cancelled.

The City of Eugene’s ice/snow emergency remains in effect. Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Las bajas temperaturas de la noche a la mañana y las peligrosas condiciones de manejo por la mañana han forzado el cierre de todas las escuelas de Bethel el jueves 28 de febrero.

Please NOTE: Bethel is on a 2 hour delay on Thursday, February 28th. Danebo will start at 10:45 and buses will pick up students 2 hours later than their usual pick-up time. Cold breakfast will be available at 10:15 and regular lunch hours will take place.

Family Fun Night Postponed

Due to the uncertainty of evening travel conditions on Thursday, February 28th, we are postponing our Family Reading Night. It was scheduled for February 28th, from 6:00-7:30 pm, with free pizza dinner and fun reading activities for all Danebo Families.

Stay tuned for a new date! We look forward to seeing you at this fun family event!

Dr. Seuss Week Celebrations Postponed

Due to our short week this week, we will postpone our Dr. Seuss week “dress-up” days until next week. The schedule for next week (March 4-8) will be:

             Monday:         “Many Colored Mondays” (wear as many colors as you can)

            Tuesday:         “Fox in Sox” (wear crazy shoes or sox—no slippers, please)

            Wednesday:   “Wacky Wednesday” (wear your clothes inside out & backwards or ???)

            Thursday:        “Cat in the Hat” (wear a crazy hat or crazy hair)

            Friday:             “The Sleep Day” (wear your pajamas—no slippers, please)

 

No Assistance League Food Pantry on Friday, March 1st

Due to the unsafe travel conditions this week, the Assistance League will not have the Danebo Food Pantry open this Friday, March 1st.

The Food Pantry (open in the Danebo Cafeteria from 2:35-3:30 every Friday that we have school) will be open next Friday, March 8th.

Thank you, again, to our amazing volunteers from the Assistance League of Eugene for their willingness to support our Danebo Families!

Bethel Schools On 2-Hour Delay Thursday

All Bethel schools will be open and on a 2-hour delay Thursday, February 28th.

Buses will pick up students 2 hours later than the normal time.

A cold breakfast will be available and lunch will be served at all schools today.

Dismissal for all schools will be at their regular times.

Caution is urged on the morning commute. Parents are encouraged to use their best judgement about their child’s school attendance.

Bethel Schools Remain Closed Wednesday

In the interest of student safety, all Bethel schools will be closed again Wednesday, February 27th.

There has been additional snow and a forecast of continued low temperatures.

In addition, the City of Eugene’s ice/snow emergency declaration remains in effect. Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

All of Wednesday’s school-related evening activities are also cancelled.

En interés de la seguridad de los estudiantes, todas las escuelas de Bethel estarán cerradas nuevamente el miércoles 27 de febrero.

Ha habido nieve adicional y un pronóstico de bajas temperaturas continuas.

Snow Keeps Bethel Schools Closed Tuesday

All Bethel schools will be closed again Tuesday, February 26th.

A significant amount of snow remains on neighborhood streets and sidewalks, as well as school parking lots.

All of Tuesday’s school-related evening activities will also be cancelled.
