No School, Friday, March 15th

Friday, March 15th is a grading day for teachers and a no school day for students in grades K-8 in Bethel. Teachers will be working on completing report cards, which will be sent home during the week of March 18th-March 22nd.

Also, there is no school March 25-29 for spring break.

Family Fun Reading Night Was a Success

Thank you to all students and families who joined us for our Family Fun Reading Night last Thursday. We had a free dinner followed by reading activities in classrooms and we provided free books for over 90 students throughout the evening.

Many thanks to our community sponsors (Papa’s Pizza and the Javon/Jesse Memorial Book Fund) for their support of this fun family event!

Bethel Accepting Transfer Applications

Bethel School District is now accepting Transfer requests for the coming school year.

Click here to submit a Transfer request. http://www.bethel.k12.or.us/enrollment/

Transfer applications will be accepted through March 31, and must be renewed every year.

  • Students who were admitted to their current school through the Open Enrollment process that was used the last several years are permanent and no further action is needed.
  • Students who transferred after this school year started – and all future transfers – will need to submit a transfer request.

Beginning this fall, transfers will be necessary for students seeking to attend a school other than their “neighborhood school” or for new out-of-district students to enroll in Bethel on a space-available basis.

Families will be notified in early April about whether their transfer requests for the coming school year have been approved.

CMN Coin Drive Ending

Danebo students have been collecting coins to support our Wolverine Pageant contestants. The coins will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network, the cause behind the Wolverine Pageant.

The coin drive will end on Wednesday, March 6th, with the class that brings in the most coins earning a pizza lunch (courtesy of Izzy’s Pizza).

Thank you for your support of the Wolverine Pageant and Children’s Miracle Network. We love that our students participated in “kids helping kids”!

Family Fun Reading Night, Thursday, March 7th

Every Bethel school is open and starting on time today, Friday, March 1st.

Buses are on their normal schedules and school dismissal will be at its regular time.

Our parking lot is still very wet with large piles of snow, so drivers are asked to please exercise caution and bring extra patience.

Update: Bethel Schools Closed Again Thursday

Freezing temperatures overnight and treacherous morning driving conditions have forced the closure of all Bethel schools again on Thursday, February 28th.

We had hoped that a 2-hour delay would allow the conditions to improve. However, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority and their ability get to school is still compromised.

All school-related evening activities are cancelled.

The City of Eugene’s ice/snow emergency remains in effect. Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
