Field Day Today

Thanks to a small handful of teachers who planned our school-wide field day taking place this afternoon. Students will be in groups (Kindergarten through fifth grade in each group) and rotating to different stations with fun team activities.

Field day will go from about 1:00-2:15 today (Thursday, 6/13). If you get the message and are free, come on over to the school and join in the fun (after checking in to the office, of course!).

Last Day of School, Thursday, June 14th, 11:45 Dismissal

Thursday, June 14th, is the last day of school for all Danebo students. The school day will go from 8:45-11:45. Breakfast will be served, but there will not be any lunch service.

Our Fifth Grade Moving On Ceremony will begin at 9:30 in the gym, followed by a reception in the cafeteria. Please check in at the prior to heading down to the gym for the ceremony.

Lost & Found

If you are able to stop by Danebo, please take a few minutes to look through the lost and found in the cafeteria. We have hundreds of coats, jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, hats, gloves, etc., that used to belong to Danebo students and we’d love for them to return to their owners.

Items left in the lost and found will be donated to the Bethesda Boutique on Friday, June 15th.

Health Room News

If your child has any medications in the health room, please stop by to pick them up.
Shanna will be in the health room during her regular hours on Thursday, 6/14 (8:30-2:30).

If you are unable to come in on Thursday, please plan to stop by the office during our regular office hours (7:30-4:00).

The Danebo Office will be open through Friday, June 22nd, and will close for the summer starting on Monday, June 25th. We will reopen on Monday, August 6th, 2018.

Report Cards to be Mailed Home

Report cards will be mailed home to families on Tuesday, June 19th.

Registration in August

As previously mentioned on the Danebo website, registration for the 2018-19 school year will look different than in years past. We will still ask families to come in to the school on Tuesday, August 14th or Wednesday, August 15th, but the amount of time it will take to register may be shorter if you are able to access the registration forms online via a computer.

Watch for a postcard from Danebo with important information in it the week of August 6th, 2018.

Thank You to ALL of our Volunteers

A HUGE thank you to all of our families who have volunteered time with our students, staff and community. We are grateful for the time you spent with us this year and know that we could not have done so many of the activities without you. From all of our students and staff, thank you for giving us your time!

We hope you are able to continue helping out next year!

Thank you for making the 2017-18 school year one of the best at Danebo. We appreciate your partnership and support of our school and of your child.

Enjoy your summer!

Join Us for the Danebo Celebration & We Need Your Help

Thursday, June 7th, from 5:30-7:30 is our annual Danebo Celebration! We hope you and your children are able to join us for a fun community event.

We have many fun activities including rock painting, face painting, a Dunk Tank, a jumbo slide, photo booth/pictures, and other carnival-like games. Activity tickets will be available for $0.50 each and the Raffle Tickets will sell for $1.00 each. We hope you can join us.

And…if you can join us, please consider volunteering for one of the activities. We are in need of volunteers in order make the Celebration happen. Please call the office (541-688-8735) and let us know if you can help out. Any amount of time is appreciated!

Danebo Field Day

On Wednesday, June 13th, all Danebo students will participate in a school-wide Field Day. Staff have selected fun outside activities for teams of students (cross-grade level) to participate in.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with one of the activities, please contact the school office at 541-688-8735.

The field day will go from ~1:00-2:15. Volunteers are needed from ~12:30-2:45.

Please be sure to pick up your child’s medication on or before the last day of school.

Important: School Registration Alert

We are excited to announce that school registration will be online for the upcoming school year. The system is secure and the process will be easy. There will be no more crowding into the school on registration day or stacks of papers to manage.

You will be able to:

  • Quickly verify current information if your child is already a Bethel student
  • Update emergency contacts, medical information, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
  • Electronically sign health and permission forms and other required documents

This online process will replace all the hard copy student registration and permission forms that you used to sort through each year.

When it is time to register online in August, you will receive a post card or email from Danebo with instructions on how to access the system for your child. The letter or email will contain a link with instructions and a secure “snapcode” that links directly to your student’s information. You will create an account that you will use each year for this process. To make the process easier for families with multiple children in Bethel, you will have the option to apply all generic family information for all children in your family.

Those who do not have access to the Internet will be welcomed to come to Danebo and use a school computer to complete the registration process.

Meanwhile, watch for a letter or email this August with all the instructions and your snapcode.

If you have questions, please contact the school office at 541-688-8735.

Walk & Roll to School

Walk and roll to school was a HUGE success for Danebo students this week. We had 125 students participate in walking, biking and riding scooters to school on Wednesday and handed out lots of great prizes. Five students took home larger prizes (scooters, bike locks, umbrella) and one student was entered in a District level drawing for a gift certificate for a bike shop.

Many thanks to Jen Hubbard, Kyla Gevatosky, Deedra Patrick and Krisia Zepeda for volunteering their time to get prizes out to students and check students in during the morning time.

60 Day Attendance Goal

We met our most recent attendance goal of having 95% of students at school for 60 days! Students enjoyed a “bubble party” with their class (bubble gum or bubbles) as a celebration and we are ready to move on to the next goal.

Mrs. Johnson’s class shows off their “bubbles”, celebrating our 60 day attendance goal!

Thank you for supporting your child’s education by ensuring they are at school every day. We want to finish the school year strong so that we can meet the goal for reaching 75 days of 95% or higher attendance, and we have only 11 days to go to meet that goal!

Save the Date for the Annual Danebo Celebration

Be sure to save the date of Thursday, June 7th and join us for our annual Danebo Celebration. Low cost/no cost activities will take place throughout the building in our fun school community event.

Thanks to our community and business sponsors for helping us out with donations.

Donations for baskets can be brought to your child’s classroom through June 1st. Thanks for your help and we look forward to seeing you on the 7th!
