Walk & Roll To School on Thursday, 5/16

We are celebrating Walk & Roll to School tomorrow, Thursday, 5/16. Students who walk, bike, or scooter to school will receive prizes. In addition, students who bus, walk, bike, or scooter will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the following prizes:

               *Mini skateboard (2)

               *Scooter (2)

               *Bike helmet (3)

               *Get Air Gift Card

               *One Pass

               *Water Bottle (2)

               *LED Lights (4)

               *Bike lock

Please note this change:

               Students who ride the First Student buses to school will have the opportunity to walk to school with supervisors from our Safe Routes to School program AND Danebo Staff. Buses will drop students at the Albertson’s parking lot where they will be met by supervisors. We will cross Royal at Danebo (with adult supports at the cross walk), then walk down Welcome Way to Candlelight.

               If your child does not want to walk from Albertsons, they can remain on the bus and will be transported to Danebo by the First Student driver. If you would prefer that your child NOT walk to school, please be sure that they know to remain on the bus at Albertsons.

Free Family Event

Hands on demonstrations of the science behind optics, light, and color; a laser maze; win a light kit so you can experiment with light at home.  

They are all part of a free family event this Thursday at the UO called International Day of Light: Illuminating Education.

Learn how eyes work, why the sky is blue and what lasers are used for.

  • May 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the Atrium of Willamette Hall (1371 E 13th Ave)

  • Free to all families

Evento Familiar Gratis

Las demostraciones de la ciencia detrás de la óptica, la luz y el color; un laberinto laser; gana un kit de luz para que puedas experimentar con la luz en casa.

Todos son parte de un evento familiar gratuito este jueves en la UO llamado Día Internacional de la Luz: Educación Iluminadora.

Aprenda cómo funcionan los ojos, por qué el cielo es azul y para qué se usan los láseres.
