Socks, Mittens, and Meds!

It’s time again for the Bethel Socks, Mittens and Meds drive!

This is an annual event in Bethel, our health team takes the lead on making sure all our students have their winter needs met. Last year we collected 380+ articles of winter wear, which we divided among the schools and over $200.00 for our medication assistance fund!

In most schools we will have a decorated drop box for the items in the office as well as receipts for cash donations.
Collection Dates: November  28  – December  8

Collected items will be gathered and redistributed by December 12.

Preparing Bethel Students for the Future…

Last Friday our kindergarten-8th grade teachers all came together at Cascade Middle School to learn. We learned about Common Core Standards, music instruction, vocabulary development, using student data to guide instruction, math problem-solving, instructional technology…and much more nearly 40 different classes in all.

Why did we do it? Our mission is to develop and operate an aligned K-12 system designed to ensure that all students graduate from high school prepared to continue their education or enter the work force. We know our kids have dreams, we want to help them fulfill their dreams by being the best teachers we can be.

Here are some of our student’s dreams…

Thanks to Dana Miller for the video production!

Bethel teachers work hard to help students gain proficiency with Oregon’s Essential Skills! This way our students not  only earn a diploma, but the prepare for college and career! This makes their dreams come true.

Jack-O-Lanterns with a Cause…

All Bethel families are welcome to join us at  Willamette High School tomorrow night for a community-wide pumpkin carving event.  This is a benefit for ShelterCare, which provides services for homeless families or those who are at risk of homelessness and adults who have a mental illness or a brain injury.

Each pumpkin carved earns $5 for Sheltercare, and all the jack-o-lanterns will be displayed at Kesey Square in downtown Eugene. The pumpkins and tools are provided, just join in the fun at the Willamette Cafeteria from 6:30-8:30 PM tomorrow night.
