Wanted: Babies To Be Tiny Teachers

Baby volunteers are the key to the Roots of Empathy program being introduced in Bethel 1st grade classrooms.

Seeking babies, 2-4 months old; applicants must be willing to be naturally adorable; serve as a tiny teacher of empathy, attachment, and development; open to being unconditionally loved by dozens of elementary students.

The Roots of Empathy program is being introduced in first grade classrooms at Malabon and Fairfield elementaries, and it needs additional newborn volunteers.

Roots of Empathy focuses on raising levels of empathy, resulting in more respectful and caring relationships and reduced levels of bullying and aggression.

The program could still use a few more babies and moms or dads to visit a classroom nine times over the course of the school year.
