BEF Receives Huge Grant Supporting Students

The Bethel Education Foundation has been awarded a $220,000 grant to provide support for students with significant emotional and behavioral needs.

The Community Wellness Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation partnered with the Trillium Community Health Plan to provide the grant funding.

Combined with some funds from Bethel School District, it will bring professional Skill Builders from Direction Service to each of the district’s seven elementary schools.

There has been an increase in the number and intensity of extreme behavioral outbursts during school. The Skill Builders will be embedded in Bethel schools and provide daily prevention work teaching the tools students need, as well as immediate de-escalation support in classrooms.
