Grant Funds Mental Health Services

Bethel Health Center Director Brooke Cottle accepts a check from Marian Blankenship of the PacificSource Foundation. $50,000 in grant funding will provide school-based mental health counseling in Bethel at the elementary grade level.

Marian Blankenship with the PacificSource Foundation personally delivered a check to Bethel Health Center Director Brooke Cottle.

It’s the kind of drop-in visit the Health Center loves to welcome.

Blankenship brought the first of $50,000 promised by the Foundation over the next two years to provide school-based mental health services for Bethel students at the elementary grade level.

The Bethel Health Center provides comprehensive health care services for Bethel students – everything from well-child exams to treatment of acute illnesses or injury – out of its clinic located inside Cascade Middle School.

With the grant from the PacificSource Foundation, the Health Center is able to provide mental health services in the school setting rather than requiring students and parents come to the Health Center for assistance.
