The Meadow View OBOB team of Sarah Vance, Katana Radke, Leah Measho, Emma Martins, Abby Smith has advanced to the state tournament.

A team of 6th graders from Meadow View has earned a spot in the state OBOB tournament.

Five Meadow View girls competed against teams from 30 other middle schools from throughout Lane County at the Oregon Battle of the Books regional tournament held at Willamette High School.

Meadow View rolled out of the first four round robin matches as the #1 seed by racking up more points than all the other teams, many of which featured 7th and 8th graders.

Coached by Marilyn Bounds and Nicole Radke, the team advanced through the knockout bracket and reached the championship match against Fern Ridge. Meadow View finished second in the finals, but both schools earn a trip to the state OBOB tourney in Salem next month.

The team of Sarah Vance, Katana Radke, Leah Measho, Emma Martins, and Abby Smith now has a few more weeks to study and prepare for questions about the 16 OBOB books.
