The Willamette Culinary Team brought home some hardware after finishing second in the 9th annual Oregon Coast Invitational in Coos Bay.
The Wil-Hi team had to prepare three plates of three courses in one hour of cooking time, with the entrée featuring seafood as the protein.
Each team member received a $3,000 scholarship to the Oregon Coast Culinary institute. In addition, Alexandra Gilbert took first in an individual competition to earn another $2,000 in scholarship money, and Braxton Shipman was third for another $1,000 in scholarship funds.
Other team members are Parker Hansen, Desiree Maring and Ruth Perez.
