Career Options Unlimited For Girls

Professionals from Springfield Fire and Life Safety explain their career choices as firefighters and paramedics.
In an effort to encourage expanded career choices for girls, Willamette High School has again hosted Options Unlimited.
The annual event is designed to give girls in middle and high school a chance to explore what it’s like to work in non-traditional careers that are in high demand and offer high paying jobs. Hands-on workshops from professional instructors gave the girls a better idea about the professions.
The 14 workshops included Aircraft Maintenance, Public Works, Firefighter Fundamentals, Plumbing, and Solar Power. FBI Basics was the most highly attended workshop.
Options Unlimited was open to girls from throughout the area, and is a perfect complement to Willamette’s commitment to preparing students for careers, including technical careers.
