Bethel-UO Partnership Just Ducky
The Oregon Duck surprised kids in the first Fairfield Duck Academy.
80 kids stayed after school until 4:30…by choice.
They were happy to stay late in order to be part of the Fairfield Duck Academy.
The new program links UO Alumni volunteers, the United Way and Fairfield Elementary students.
Kids in 3rd through 5th grade first get homework support from the UO Alumni group, then they take part in different fun activities.
The program will take place once a month and the initial event was so popular it is sure to grow.
A surprise appearance by the Oregon Duck left all the kids excited and looking forward to the next Fairfield Duck Academy.

Fairfield staff and students are so thankful to all the adults who made this program happen. Fairfield kids are excited to be part of the program. It was awesome to see so many adult mentors with our students! Thanks!!!!
